APEX roof tents can be mounted on pretty much any car. It depends much more on whether your roof rack is suitable for it (see next question). Of course, you should make sure that the permissible roof load of your car is not exceeded. We have already successfully installed tents on sedans, commercial vehicles and station wagons. The only thing we have not tried so far is convertibles.
All of our roof tents are equipped with a flexible fastening system that can be adjusted to the distance between your luggage rack rails and gives you the choice of opening the tent either to the side or to the back. The actual connection between the tent and the roof rack is made by sliding fastening plates with stainless steel screws. These are standardized M8 screws that are suitable for luggage rack rails up to a height of 5cm. If your rack exceeds this thickness, suitable longer screws are available in any hardware store. The fastening plates are suitable for luggage rack widths of up to 6.5cm (wider plates are also available). Please check the static and dynamic maximum load in your roof rack description before installing the tent.
APEX roof tents have height-adjustable ladders that reach up to 2.30m and can be extended as required using optional extension elements. There are no minimum heights to be observed; our roof tents can even be mounted on car trailers.
Our roof tents can be installed so that the entrance is on the side or above the rear. Of course, wider models can only be installed with the entrance on the side. The APEX fastening system is very flexible, so that the orientation of your tent can be changed later.
If you're in a hurry and have some practice, the tent can be up and running in a minute or two. Spend a few more moments putting up the window covering and the roof tent is completely up and running. Folding it up takes less than three minutes.
